The Kentucky Horse Park's Museum and Educational Program were recognized for their dedication to the horse and its role in human history by the establishment of a one million dollar endowment by the W. Paul Little Foundation.
In a press conferenfe held on Nov. 23, 1993, Mrs. Lucille C> Little announced that the endowment was being given to honor the memory of her husband, noted Thoroughbred breeder W. Paul Little.
The endowment will be used for museum and educational programs not funded through traditional sources. Both the endowment and a new cultural and learning center will be named for Mrs. Little's husband.
Museum programs and projects eligible for funding under the new endowment include musem and library acquisitions, special gallery exhibitions, conservation and restoration of the museum collections, development of new permanent exhibits and the development of educational materials.
Lee S. Cholak, executive directo of the Kentucky Horse Park stated, "We are grateful to Mrs. Little and the W. Paul Little Foundation for the generosity and vision that will allow expanded educational programs, acquisitions and exhibits to better serve the thousands of students and hundreds of thousands of tourists who visit the Park each year."
Icelandic Horse in Rose Parade -- Do you watch the Rose Parade on January 1st from Pasadena, CA? This year the parade theme was 'Fantastic Adventure' and the Icelandic Horse Adventure Society was in the parade on their Icelandic mounts.
Did everyone get to see it? They were shown on television, and so were many other equestrian groups. The best coverage this year was on NBC, so if you were watching CBS or ABC, you may have missed some of the horses as they did skip over some.
